Located in the southern part of Fars Province, within Ghir city, Lemon Orchard Villa is situated in a region defined by its hot climate, long summers, and agricultural landscape dominated by citrus orchards and date palms. Nestled at the heart of a vast lemon orchard, the villa serves as a weekend retreat for a family while also accommodating large gatherings of relatives and occasional guests from other cities.
The design was guided by two primary challenges: reconciling the dual program of private family use and large-scale hospitality, and addressing the demanding climatic conditions of the region. To achieve this, the villa is divided into two distinct zones: one dedicated to family life and the other to guest accommodation. These zones are connected by a suspended bridge that doubles as a veranda and shared entrance, fostering interaction while maintaining privacy.
The family zone is designed as a triplex composition, creating a hierarchy of spaces that ensures seclusion and directs views and circulation toward the swimming pool and the guest unit. This sectional arrangement enhances both functionality and privacy, allowing the family to host without compromising their own comfort.
The overall form of the villa follows the 8 × 8-meter grid of the surrounding lemon orchard, embedding the project within its agricultural context. In keeping with regional vernacular strategies, the villa is oriented northward to maximize shading and benefit from prevailing breezes, thus mitigating the intensity of the summer heat.
Through its spatial organization and contextual response, Lemon Orchard Villa establishes a dialogue between tradition and modern living, balancing family intimacy with communal hospitality, all while engaging harmoniously with its environmental and cultural setting.
